If you’re looking to take your tailgating spread to a new level and you’ve already got the logistics nailed down, consider zhushing up your tailgating table-scape a bit. Putting a little effort behind your place settings will go a long way in making your tailgating party feel more like an inviting dinner party!
But it has to be simple and tailgating- or picnic-friendly. And that’s exactly what we have with our DIY tailgating place settings, which are also suitable for picnics that you want to make a little bit special. These picnic place settings are easy to transport and hand out to your outdoor diners and tailgating guests. They’re pretty, too, which is guaranteed to make them a big hit.
Here’s how to create these pretty and practical place settings
You’ll need these supplies:
Here’s something you might not have known: Homedepot.com sells paper plates, napkins, and utensils in bulk. If you’re a season-long tailgater, consider ordering a 125/pack of plates to cut back on the number of times you hit the store and to save money!
Step 1: Punch two holes side-by-side on one end of your paper plate.
Step 2: String a 6- to 8-inch bit of ribbon through the two holes.
Step 3: Group together two napkins, one fork, one spoon, and one knife. Place on top of the ribbon, and tie with a bow. Your first place setting is done.
Now, repeat these steps 30 times!
This is a super easy project that you can tackle while watching TV or chatting with a friend.
Now that you have your pretty and practical place settings ready, shop The Home Depot for the rest of your tailgating essentials.
