Once the busy holiday season flies by, we are often left with dirty dishes, mounds of wrapping paper, and holiday decorations that need to be cleaned up, organized, and safely stored. In an effort to help you store and organize your home in preparation for the new year, here are a few holiday organization tools that might make your after-Christmas cleanup a little easier.
FOR THE DECORATIONS (FROM LEFT TO RIGHT):
Many times, we reuse the same Christmas decorations year after year, but if you store your holiday decorations in an attic or basement, you run the risk of your precious holiday décor gathering dirt and dust, or worse, breaking en route. This year, grab a few organizers to keep your artificial wreaths, breakable ornaments and gift wrap safely stowed away. We like the Honey-Can-Do Combo Holiday Storage Organizer (3-Pack), an ornament organizer and storage bin, and an artificial tree rolling storage bag.
FOR THE TABLE SETTING (FROM LEFT TO RIGHT):
There may not be many times when you need to take the extra leaf out of storage to accommodate more guests at your dinner table. But Christmas is probably one of those times. If you don’t have a table leaf storage bag already, it’s a small investment that will extend the life of your dining table leaf.
Safely storing anything made of glass can be risky, but if you’re looking to tuck away your stemware so that it stays clean and dust-free, a stemware saver and storage bin is an ideal solution.
If you’re using silver flatware for your holiday special occasions, a zippered drawer liner stores your sterling pieces properly so they won’t tarnish over time. That means you won’t have to polish your silver when you take it out after months of hibernation.
FOR THE NEW TOYS (CLOCKWISE FROM TOP):
Baskets are the ideal way to store toys because small items can easily be thrown into them when you’re tidying up. They also make it easy for kids to dive into them and find their favorite stuffed animal.
We like the set of three Lyon Tall Oval Baskets because of their braided border and lovely washed gray finish. (Note: These baskets are no longer available, however this set of 3 Tan/Natural Baskets would work the same way.)
The classic Lyon Storage Baskets (from Home Decorators Collection) are perfect for the family that prefers a lid on their storage baskets. When all the toys are corralled, they’re completely out of sight.
For a more modern look, the Tin Baskets with Fabric Liner (also from Home Decorators Collection) are a great mix of hard and soft elements with their wire frame and neutral lining.
