Q: Is my propane tank full? How do I know?
A: There aren’t many things worse than calling everyone in the neighborhood over, then running out of gas for the grill. So be prepared. A simple screw-on gauge is a handy thing to have if you own a gas grill. Most have a brass fitting that screws right onto the tank and a color-coded gauge that can tell you if you’re in the “red zone.” (It’s always better to know before the store closes, isn’t it?)
If you don’t have one on hand, try this clever method instead: Pour a cup of boiling water over the outside of the tank. Condensation will form on the part of the tank that’s still full, so you’ll know how much fuel you are working with.
