The first step is to cut the size of your wood pieces, starting with the pegboard.
I wanted this card to be a 6-inch square. I measured the shape paying attention to the placement of my cut in relation to the pegboard holes.
Complete the measuring and cutting steps again for the project panel, which will become the back of your card.
Next, decorate the front of your card. I cut a heart shape out of paper so I could spray-paint the heart shape on the front of my card.
Next, spray paint your pegboard piece. Allow for plenty of dry time.
Trip: Be careful to align your stencil evenly with the pegboard holes!
Now it’s time to create the pocket for the gift card to sit in.
First, fold a piece of duct tape in half with another piece layering on top to make it a thick flap.
Secure the flap to the back piece of the card, gluing around three sides.
Now you have the top and bottom of the card It’s time to screw the pegboard onto the project board. Use a drill to screw four screws into the four corners of the pegboard.
Tip: Drill slowly to make sure your pegboard piece is lined up correctly on all sides!
Finish up the last screw and you’re done!
You have a fun activity to give as a Valentine card. Have a screw drive handy so your sweetie can open it!
