Step 1: Mark & Cut Wood for C H E E R
Step 2: Organize Wood As You Cut
Keep your boards organized for easy assembly. Lightly write the letter you’ll build with each board, and keep the boards for each letter grouped together.
Step 3: Build Each Letter
Step 4: Connect the Letters to Each Other
Once the individual letters are built, it’s time to connect them to one another.
We built them up, taking the time to stagger the letters just so that the shelf felt properly balanced.
Connect the letters to one another using the same screws and driver from Step 3.
Step 5: Fill Holes & Sand
Once the letters are attached to one another, it’s time to prepare for painting.
Step 6: Paint It Out
Wipe any remaining dust off with a microfiber cloth, then paint with Behr Premium Plus INTERIOR Paint & Primer in One, in Ultra Pure White.
Dry time varies depending on environment.
Step 7: Add Extra Bracing
Step 8: Add L Bracket for Extra Security
It’s always a good idea to add a corner bracket in an inconspicuous spot where you can attach the sign directly to the wall and prevent anyone from accidentally tipping it over.
We hope you enjoy this great piece of handmade holiday decor.
