In our Style Challenge series, we challenge some of our favorite bloggers from around the web to surprise us with their ideas for creating a stylish and functional space using Home Depot products as a starting point.

For the Holiday Edition of the Style Challenge, we tapped Jessica Bruno, a blogger and DIYer at Four Generations One Roof. We asked her to work her magic with a Christmas tree using Martha Stewart Winterberry ornaments. She shows us her Christmas tree decorating ideas with this festive, pulled-together tree with lots of bling.

I wanted a simple but elegant look as well as a comfy and cozy feel for my holiday tree. I must say, the Winterberry Collection of ornaments is beautiful and the red, gold and silver theme looks fabulous in our family room. I also used red burlap ribbon with a slight Nordic design on the edges and wrapped it evenly around the tree. I used paper clips to attach the ribbon behind the tree in order to achieve the looped ribbon look.

The ornaments are absolutely gorgeous and shatter-proof. The red and gold bird ornaments fasten to the tree with a gold clip so placement is very easy. The coordinating pinecones and a variety of glass ornaments made decorating this tree super easy. I was so excited to have a “themed” decorating kit sent to me. Usually, I am running around trying to mix and match and coordinate random ornaments. Martha Stewart’s holiday collection themes are perfect if you like a gorgeous and custom look without the headache!

One of my favorite ornaments that Home Depot sent me is this little guy below. Meet Maestro Mouse. He plays a variety of holiday songs and even can make your lights flicker to the music. It is perfect at night when all the lights are off, the tree is lit and this little guy is singing holiday carols. We cozied up on the couch last night with a cup of hot cocoa and listened to Maestro Mouse.

Next are these adorable glittered reindeer. We recently added wide pine planks to our family room and the shelf we installed on the top is coming in handy for decorating accessories. Adding wooden wall treatments to any wall is a fairly inexpensive way to add character to any room.

During the holiday season we have multiple trees in our home. Living with four generations under one roof means multiple spaces and multiple trees during Christmas. I think the red, silver and gold color scheme is perfect, and while it lends a simple elegance, it speaks comfy, cozy and festive to me.

I hope you enjoyed our holiday tree decked out with the Winterberry Collection. A special thank you to The Home Depot for asking me to participate in their holiday style challenge!
