5 Christmas Gift Wrapping Ideas
Christmas gift wrapping ideas are a fun part of the holidays. I’ve been experimenting with gift wrapping in an understated style and palette, starting with plain brown paper packages wrapped up with string (name that musical!), and mixing in some cedar sprigs.
And then I added something extra for fun.
Here’s what I did…
Here’s what I used to create these 5 Christmas gift wrapping ideas:
- Small sprigs of cedar needles
- Hobby wire
- Jute twine
- Flocking spray
- Builder’s paper
- Key tags

To attach the greenery to these gifts, we used three different methods. We created a tiny “mini-wreath” that creates a circular spray around two central pinecones. For the step-by-step instructions to make this miniature wreath, check out Adorn Your Holiday Gifts with a Cedar Mini-Wreath here on the Home Depot blog.

I also used a similar technique to create mini-strands of cedar garland for the gift wrap. By this method, we attached sprigs of cedar to our jute twine, then applied the jute twine as you would a normal holiday ribbon. The easy-to-follow instructions are in Mini-Garland to Adorn Your Gifts.
